My 5 Most Anticipated Video Games for 2019

There are only a few days left of 2018 and it’s fair to say the year has been fantastic for gaming. Throughout the year, a number of phenomenal titles were released
including Red Dead Redemption 2, Celeste, and also Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Considering how amazing 2018 has been for the industry, a lot of iconic titles and perhaps even some major announcements may be required during the course of 2019 if the year is going to be looked back on in future as superior to 2017 and 2018, respectively.

With 2019 just around the corner, there are a number of great games that are scheduled for release that I’m looking forward to. With that being said, the following piece looks at the five video games that I am anticipating the most for 2019. This isn’t exactly surprising, but this blog post is purely made up of my own opinions, so chances are you’ll agree and disagree with some of my choices.

How I Voted In The 2018 Game Awards.

* The following post will not contain spoilers. Don’t worry.

It’s a cliché statement, but, 2018 has been a fantastic year for the gaming industry. As expected, the year has seen a number of phenomenal games enter the shelves such as Celeste and Red Dead Redemption. Nintendo’s latest console, the Nintendo Switch, has done superbly in comparison to its predecessor, the WiiU, while the console juggernauts, Sony and Microsoft, have made small steps towards the potential for cross-play in future.

Recently, The Game Awards announced their latest batch of categories and nominations for their annual awards show. The following will be me talking through who I voted for in each respective category. As expected, I haven’t been able to play every game that has been released in 2018, so some categories have been skipped while other beloved and popular games may not feature. Why I love Life is Strange.

This post will contain spoilers – you have been warned.

It’s rather rare that fictional material can have a noteworthy impact on myself, but it’s easy to be devoted to a game when the storytelling is at its absolute finest. I’ve always loved the ability to witness the impact that decisions can have on the past, present, and future, even if there are occasions where the consequences leave me feeling betrayed or miserable due to the choices that I have made.

For some reason, I never really got invested in the Life is Strange franchise when it was originally introduced in 2015 despite my love for episodic adventure games. After experiencing the thrills and emotions of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: The Final Season last month, I knew I had to properly try Dontnod Entertainment’s franchise once again.
