Deadline Day LIVE – 2020 Winter Transfer Window

It’s the final day of the 2020 transfer window and time is running out for clubs across Europe to complete any last minute deals. Since some clubs tend to leave their business until the very last minute, it’s likely that many more signings are made throughout the day.

I’ve enjoyed covering Deadline Day on my website in the past so I thought why not do it all over again! Check out my website every so often for the latest transfer updates:

12.11pm – Leicester City are set to sign Wolves’ defender Ryan Bennett on an initial loan deal until the end of the season. The Foxes will have an option to make the deal permanent but a report from BBC claims the move will become permanent in Bennett plays a certain number of games.

11.50am – Celtic are currently in talks with Tottenham to sign midfielder Victor Wanyama. It’s unknown whether the talks are for a loan or permanent transfer.

11.05am – Arsenal have confirmed the loan signing of Cedric Soares from Southampton.

9.58am – Real Madrid boss Zinezide Zidane has just confirmed that Gareth Bale will be staying at the club.

9.29am – Norwich City have confirmed the signing of Sam McCallum from Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.

9.05am – According to The Times, Tottenham are believed to have made a breakthrough in their pursuit for Gareth Bale. The report reveals that staff at the North London club are hopeful of completing a deal today.

9.00am – Arsenal target Cedric Soares has passed his medical after a deal was agreed yesterday. An official announcement is expected later today.

8.05am – According to Sky Sports, Bournemouth have rejected an offer from Manchester United for forward Josh King. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been interested in signing a striker following an injury to Marcus Rashford and King is the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

8:00am – Kicking off the morning, it has been reported by multiple sources that West Ham United have won the race to sign Hull City attacking midfielder Jarrod Bowen for approximately £22 million. The 23-year-old had attracted interest from Crystal Palace earlier in the week but is now set to join the Hammers after a deal was agreed overnight.

7:32am – Deciding to cover Deadline Day while I’m already preparing for a newsday assignment at University probably isn’t the smartest thing to do. Nonetheless, today should be a good day.
