Arsenal has reached an agreement with their London rivals, Chelsea, to sign Brazillian defender David Luiz.
According to BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein, the two clubs agreed to a deal earlier this morning for a fee believed to be in the region of £8 million.
The 32-year-old will complete his medical today before signing a two-year contract with the North London club.
Yesterday, reports began to circulate that the defender did not train with the Chelsea first-team and that he wanted to force a move to Arsenal.
Arsenal has been in the hunt for a new central defender this transfer window and looks to have finally settled with David Luiz. In the past few months, they’ve been linked with the likes of Joachim Andersen, Dayot Upamecano, Daniele Rugani, and many others.
The Brazillian international has spent a combined six and a half years at Chelsea where he’s made 248 appearances in all competitions for the club.
