Leeds United has announced the signing of 20-year-old Eddie Nketiah. The Arsenal forward joins the club on a season-long loan deal.
According to various reports, Arsenal received numerous offers to sign the forward on loan with Bristol City the frontrunners. However, according to David Ornstein, Leeds United Director of Football Victor Orta made a late push to convince the 20-year-old to sign for Leeds instead.
Nketiah was one of Arsenal’s best performers during pre-season where he scored three goals for the club, two versus Fiorentina and one against Bayern Munich.
However, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette far ahead of the 20-year-old in the pecking order, Nketiah now has the opportunity to further his development by playing regular first-team football in the Championship.
