Arsenal confirm the signing of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

After months of rumours and speculation, Arsenal has finally announced the signing of 22-year-old left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic.

The full-back had attracted interest from a few clubs this transfer window, mainly from Napoli, but in the end, Arsenal won the race for his signature. The Gunners had two bids rejected earlier in the window by the Scottish club but their third offer, believed to be a in the region of £25 million, was accepted.

Tierney has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the North London club and he will wear the number three shirt. Other players that have worn the number includes Bacary Sagna, Ashley Cole, Nigel Winterburn, and Kenny Sansom.

Speaking about his transfer, Arsenal head coach Unai Emery said: “We’re delighted Kieran is joining us. He’s a very talented player who will continue to improve. He increases our options defensively and I look forward to him joining our group.”
