While many clubs across the country are taking part in the antics of the transfer deadline day, the same can not be said about Arsenal.
The Gunners have already made five signings this summer for a combined approximate total of £70 million but are currently in a state where they must sell players before they buy. Due to a lack of departures as well as rumours, it’s expected to be a quiet day for the Gunners.
A few days ago, it was widely reported that the Gunners were interested in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida but any deal from happening has now been confirmed as ‘dead’. However, it currently seems likely that Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina will join the Turkish club before the end of the month.
The Gunners have struggled to sell their fringe players this window with the only major departure this summer being Lucas Pérez. The club have been unsuccessful in selling the likes of Carl Jenkinson, Joel Campbell, and Danny Welbeck as their wages are far too high given their ability.
